DEFION Research Labs is the EU security lab and research division of DEFION Security. We are white-hat hackers who conduct vulnerability research on targets that matter for a more secure society: from EV chargers and medical devices to critical infrastructure. We have competed at Pwn2Own multiple times and won the "Master of Pwn" title twice.

In this role, you define your own research agenda. You pick the targets, choose your approach, and get all the time you need to do it right. When something urgent hits, like a new malware sample or a zero-day that shakes the world, you respond immediately.

What you will do

• Tackle large-scale vulnerability research projects on high-impact targets, fully owning your approach and timeline
• Perform hardware hacking, reverse engineering, and exploit development on embedded systems
• Respond rapidly to emerging threats: new malware samples, zero-days, critical incidents
• Write technical blog posts and articles about your research findings
• Present at national and international security conferences, building your reputation in the industry
• Occasionally contribute your expertise to special, confidential client projects

What you bring

Must have:

• Deep expertise in vulnerability research and exploit development, built over years of hands-on experience
• Extensive hardware hacking experience: JTAG, UART, SPI, chip-off, logic analyzers
• Ability to find complex vulnerabilities through reverse engineering and source code auditing
• Solid understanding of operating systems, low-level internals, and cryptographic primitives
• Experience attacking embedded systems
• Excellent writing skills (share your blog posts, articles, or CVEs with us)
• Based in the Netherlands (or willing to relocate)
